Online Bachelor’s in Sociology
Program overview: online bachelor’s in sociology
Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Since all human behavior is social, few fields have such broad scope and relevance for research, theory, and the application of knowledge.
The KU Department of Sociology – founded in 1889 – is the oldest in the country, and one of the top 50 sociology departments among public universities. With a bachelor’s degree in sociology, you will gain a robust foundation for understanding and engaging with an increasingly diverse and global world, and gain the tools to contribute solutions to today’s most challenging problems.
This is a degree-completion program designed for students with some prior college credit who want to earn their bachelor’s degree. Students should enter with at least 24 hours and optimally with 40 hours. These credit hours could have been obtained from KU, a community college, or prior university coursework elsewhere.
