Finish Your Bachelor’s Degree at KU
KU’s fully online undergraduate programs are designed for transfer and readmit students who are ready to complete their bachelor’s degree. With flexible, fully online major coursework and the support of a top public research university, you can finish what you started and move forward with confidence.
If you’ve completed an associate degree or your general education requirements, you can complete your remaining major courses online and earn a KU bachelor’s degree.
Transfer students apply for free (degree-seeking students only) — no application fee required.
These programs are structured for students who have already completed general education coursework (AA, AS, or equivalent) and are ready to focus on upper-level major requirements.

Official Transcripts
Official transcripts from every college or university you've attended are required before KU can make an admission decision. You can request your transcripts before, during, or after submitting your application—we encourage requesting them as early as possible to help avoid delays.
Request Your Transcript
Visit the registrar's office or student portal for each college or university you've attended and request an official transcript. Many institutions process transcript requests through services such as Parchment, the National Student Clearinghouse, or another approved transcript vendor.
Send Them to KU
During the request process, choose electronic delivery whenever possible and have your official transcript sent to processing@ku.edu.
We'll Review Your Application
Once we've received your application and all required official transcripts, we'll continue reviewing your application for an admission decision.

Eligible Applicants
Domestic and international transfer and readmit students are eligible to apply.
- Transfer students have completed post-secondary coursework after graduating from high school.
- Readmit students previously attended KU and wish to return.
KU’s fully online undergraduate programs are designed for students who have completed general education requirements (AA, AS, or equivalent core coursework) and are ready to finish their bachelor’s degree by focusing on upper-level major coursework.
Not Eligible to Apply
Domestic freshman applicants are not eligible.
Freshman applicants include current high school students and students who earned college credit through a high school program.

Admission Review Criteria
Transfer and readmit applications are reviewed individually. Admission decisions may consider:
- Cumulative high school GPA
- ACT or SAT scores (if available)
- GPA in core coursework
- Strength of courses
- Official college transcripts
International applicants may apply if they meet admission requirements. Please review the International Student Eligibility page for classification and visa information.
Minimum Admission Requirements
Transfer students with 24 or more transferable credit hours and a 2.5 GPA or higher from a regionally accredited institution are assured admission to the University of Kansas.
KU’s fully online bachelor’s degree-completion programs are designed for students who have already completed their general education requirements and are ready to focus on upper-level major coursework.
If you are admitted as a transfer or readmit student and still need general education or core coursework:
- General education (core) courses at KU are primarily offered in a traditional, in-person format.
- Only major coursework is available fully online in these degree-completion programs.
If you are required to enroll in more than two on-campus courses in a single semester, your academic plan will transition to the on-campus program.
This change may affect your tuition and fees, particularly if you are not a Kansas resident receiving in-state tuition or if you qualify for the MetroRate program.
Before enrolling, we encourage you to review your transfer credits carefully and connect with to our online Transfer Engagement Specialist to understand how any remaining coursework may affect your program format, timeline, and overall cost.
You don't need to wait until after you've submitted your application. You can request your official transcripts before, during, or after applying.
Because transcript processing can take several business days (or longer), we recommend requesting your transcripts as early as possible. KU cannot make an admission decision until your application and all required official transcripts have been received.
Many colleges and universities use Parchment to process official transcript requests.
- Visit your former institution's registrar's office website or student portal.
- Select Order an Official Transcript.
- If your school uses Parchment, you'll be directed to the Parchment ordering system.
- Choose electronic delivery when available.
- Search for the University of Kansas as the recipient. If an email address is requested, use processing@ku.edu.
- Complete your order. Parchment will securely deliver your official transcript to KU.
Many institutions use the National Student Clearinghouse for transcript ordering.
- Visit your former institution's registrar's office website or student portal.
- Select Order an Official Transcript.
- If directed to the National Student Clearinghouse, follow the prompts to request your transcript.
- Choose electronic delivery when available.
- Search for the University of Kansas as the recipient. If an email address is requested, use processing@ku.edu.
- Submit your request. Your official transcript will be sent securely to KU.

Graduate applicants begin by selecting their program of interest and submitting materials through the KU Graduate Admissions portal.
Each program establishes specific admission requirements, including prior academic preparation and, when applicable, proof of English proficiency.
Graduate Admission Requirement
To be considered for admission to a KU graduate program, applicants must:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (and submit transcripts for any post-bachelor’s coursework or degrees) from a regionally accredited institution, or a foreign institution with substantially equivalent degree requirements
- Proof of English proficiency for non-native or non-native-like English speakers
In addition to the university minimum requirements, each graduate program establishes its own admission criteria. Depending on the program, you may be required to submit:
- A résumé or curriculum vitae
- A personal statement
- Writing samples
- Standardized test scores
- A minimum GPA
- Letters of recommendation
